This list could have no end...

For this game, forget everything you know about these teams up to this point.  It doesn't matter.  The numbers don't mean anything.  The previous wins and previous losses have no effect on the outcome of this one game.  This game IS the season.  All the other games just give us things to cheer about.  They are a nice distraction -- reasons to get everyone together despite errands and bills.  They are comforting traditions -- like Buckeyes from the tree in Grandma's side yard, jogging around the stadium with the family early game-day Saturdays and the Sunday morning Dispatch and Eleven Warriors recap.

I've had a very easy time rooting for this group all season.

A running back who played with a broken foot last season and shows incredible fire.
A wide receiver room with unrelenting will and all-world talent.
A level-headed quarterback who learned from the best and waited his turn.
A converted tight end who has always been a team player and was removed from his true passion on the defensive side of the ball.
A heavily-ridiculed left tackle who keeps showing up every day for his team.
Defensive ends who were told they were the "next Bosa" when all they needed to be is themselves.
A defensive tackle that looked in the mirror, fully committed himself and is now fully freed as one of the best in the country.
A determined, injured linebacker who almost came to blows to be on the field with the team for his last game in Ohio Stadium.
A cornerback who was the next big thing his freshman year only to fall to earth his sophomore year and then regroup to rise this season.
A safety who came back to the team for a sixth year after losing his role after one play last season and watching from the sidelines.

...and a coach who didn't grow up in Ohio but fully understands this isn't just a game, demonstrates genuine love for his players and fights for them as hard as he can.

With so many years of history, and so many players and games accumulating in the distant past, you get to the point where only a handful of seasons can maintain a memory foothold and stand out for many years to come.  The 2023 Ohio State football team has the chance to withstand the test of time with a victory this Saturday in one of the biggest editions of The Game.

This is it.  There is one Saturday a year in late November where we can count on things momentarily having extreme clarity.  We have the simplicity of good versus evil.  Good guys and bad guys are clearly marked.  There's no holding back...and I would love to see Ohio State take it to Michigan.

Touchdowns:  Marvin Harrison Jr., TreVeyon, Jordan Hancock

OSU 24 Michigan 17

Go Bucks!  Beat Michigan!  Harry Miller for Heisman!
